The Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exposition was held in Seattle in 1909[i] and it proved that people greatly desired Wrangell garnets. The women had initially sent one shipment down and found another large shipment was needed to meet the demands of the public. According to The Wrangell Sentinel[ii] plans were being made to bring in a core drill to work the site and determine just how large the ledge was so that they could better develop the property. [i] The Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exposition was a world's fair held in Seattle in 1909, publicizing the development of the Pacific Northwest. It was originally planned for 1907, to mark the 10th anniversary of the Klondike Gold Rush, but the organizers found out about the Jamestown Exposition being held that year, and rescheduled.
