Belle's sister, Mrs. Jennie (E.B.) Sanders traveled to Alaska, too, that same summer. 

According to interviews in newspapers, Anna Durkee has stated that there were 14 (other stories have it at 15 women) who formed the company.  If Belle was involved in the company Jennie may have had the resources to also purchase some shares of stock.
