Jean was a bookkeeper and worked C.A. Couch and Co. from about 1889 thru 1891. She lived with her siblings in Minneapolis. Her brother, William, worked for Brown & Haywood, a glass company. Her sister, Grace, was also a bookkeeper and another sister, Ellen shows up in Seattle owning her own decorator house. Jean and her siblings moved to the Seattle area about the same time that Anna Durkee, her mother Julia moved to Seattle. 1909 was the year that the Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Expo was held in Seattle and AGM&M had a concession there. So I'm sure that Anna was glad to have Jean in Seattle as well. I was able to trace Jean through census records and then through her brother, William who had a son name Calder. It is Calder's family that I was able to find in Washington State. I sent out three letters and hit pay dirt! It has been frustrating spending 25 years searching for the women, but it has been exciting!
